Forage Inoculants
Inoculants are viable cultures of lactic acid bacteria that, when used properly, stimulate the fermentation of forages to help dairy farmers make higher quality silage to feed their cows. We proudly manufacture forage inoculants in our Specialty Blending Facility, a state-of-the-art site built in 2016. Manufacturing our own inoculants allows us to quickly bring innovation to our Promote® Forage-Mate® line. We also offer custom blending services for larger customers interested in marketing their own private-label inoculants.
Promote® Forage-Mate® forage inoculants are supported by research in areas that include improving nutrient retention, decreasing dry matter loss, improving aerobic stability, and increasing fiber digestibility. Our inoculants are formulated with multiple different strains of bacteria, including Lactobacillus plantarum, Pediococcus pentosaceous, Pediococcus acidilactici, Propionibacterium spp., and Lactobacillus buchneri. Our formulas include moisture scavengers and chlorine scavengers and our products are stored at refrigerated temperatures, all to help protect bacteria viability, and ensure product quality and performance.
Forage-Mate® AP
