AOXTM
Calving, health challenges, and high temperatures can initiate oxidative stress in a dairy cow’s body. AOX™ is a combination of botanicals that help support animal health during stressful conditions. AOX™ provides dairy producers a low-cost alternative to meet the health needs of their animals.
Recommended Use:
Mix AOX™ into dairy rations at a rate of 0.4 to 1.6 pounds per ton of complete feed, based on nutritionist recommendations.
Cinergy IGP 5/10
Cinergy IGP 5/10 is a blended feed supplement used in dairy cattle rations. It contains reed-sedge peat, yeast cultures, and fermentation extracts of Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis to promote normal gut health. Extensive research on IGP indicates its use supports healthy milk yield and rumen buffering in dairy cattle.
Recommended Use:
Feed Cinergy IGP 5/10 at a rate of 50 grams per head per day.
Defusion® 501
Defusion® 501 is an anti-caking flow agent designed for use in feed rations across species, including dairy cattle.
Recommended Use:
Defusion® 501 should be included in dairy rations at a rate of 10 to 20 grams per head per day, not exceeding 2 percent in the total ration.
Defusion® VAC-60
Defusion® VAC-60 is a unique combination of rumen buffers, yeast cultures, bacterial fermentation products, feed preservatives, and vitamins. Defusion® VAC-60 is designed to serve as a supplement to dairy cattle as an aid in maintaining rumen function.
Recommended Use:
Introduce Defusion® VAC-60 at 30 grams per head per day for 3 to 5 days, then increase to 50 to 60 grams per head per day.
Defusion® VAC-60 contains a minimum of 13 percent sulfur and should only be used when total ration sulfur can be maintained below the NRC 2001 maximum tolerable level of 0.4 percent in the diet for dairy cattle. Total sulfur includes sulfur from water as well as feed. As with all feed ingredients, follow label directions carefully and consult your nutritionist if needed.
I.C.E.® Plus
Promote® I.C.E.® Plus is a proprietary blend of key ingredients that helps cattle better regulate their body temperature during heat stress, minimizing the effects on milk production and enhancing reproductive success by keeping cattle cool from the inside out. Promote® I.C.E.® Plus has been reformulated for 2020 to include plant-based compounds that help support animal health during stressful conditions.
Recommended Use:
Promote® I.C.E.® Plus is available as a concentrated premix for inclusion at 0.04 pounds per head per day and in a less concentrated form for on farm addition at 0.1 pounds per head per day.
TrasicTM SeY
Trasic™ SeY is a selenium yeast product that contains high amounts of selenomethionine and selenocysteine, which are taken up by the animal and stored for use when the animal’s needs for selenium exceed daily intake. This increased bioavailability leads to a more effective and efficient product.
Valido® Choline RP
Valido® Choline RP is a microencapsulated choline chloride, providing rumen-protected choline with superior availability post-ruminally. Choline is a well-recognized essential nutrient for dairy cows, especially during the transition period, playing a key role as a methyl donor and in liver metabolism. Choline has been shown to support a healthy liver and support normal milk production and fertility. Rumen-protected choline is encapsulated in a fat matrix that cannot be digested by the rumen microbes. Once in the intestine, the fat matrix is digested by the cow’s enzymes to release the choline for absorption. The level of protection in the rumen and availability in the intestine both vary widely; Valido® Choline RP offers superior delivery of absorbable choline to the lower gastrointestinal tract. B17
Recommended Use:
Valido® Choline RP is recommended for use in transition cows, 30 days before calving to 90 days after calving, at a rate of 60 grams/cow/day.
AAlphaTek®
AAlphaTek is a proprietary blend of fermentation extracts, vitamins, minerals, protein sources and botanicals that:
- Increases energy corrected milk yield
- In research trials with lactating cows, an increase in energy corrected milk yield was demonstrated when AAlphaTek was incorporated into the diet
- Increases flow of metabolizable protein (MP from the rumen)
- Reducing ruminal degradation of protein sources increases the flow of MP to the cow’s small intestine
Recommended Use:
In diets high in RDP, keep diet formulation similar and incorporate AAlphaTek into the diet. The net result is an increase in the flow of MP to the hindgut to support additional production.
Where expensive RUP sources are used, there is an opportunity to reduce the supplemental protein cost by making greater use of RDP sources. The net result is a similar flow of MP to the hindgut at a lower cost.
